Footballers tend to get a bit of stick for being out of touch with reality or not engaging with the regular football fan, but that probably couldn’t be levelled at Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka.
In a video for World Down Syndrome Day shared by Arsenal, the Swiss tough tackling midfielder talks about his friendship with Julian, a little boy who has Down syndrome. Xhaka first met Julian in December 2015 while playing in Germany for Monchengladbach when he was chosen as a mascot. From that moment onwards the two formed a lovely friendship.
