The headline pretty much sums this one up. It is what it is, but for any goalkeeper out there they’d feel a great deal of sympathy for Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala’s Richard Zajac. As howlers go, this is possibly one of the worst you’ll see all campaign.
Zajac was caught dithering on the ball in Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala’s opening game of the season against Lechia Gdansk, allowing the opposition striker to close him down. In his state of panic, Zajac then kicked the ball into the on-rushing player’s face and into his own net. It proved to be the decisive goal as Lechia won the game 1-0. Ouch.
Who’d be a goalkeeper, eh?
