Beautiful: New York Red Bulls help fulfil dreams of ill five-year old

Five-year-old Irelyn Maloney was born with a rare genetic disorder called Familial Mediterranean fever, which has necessitated 40 hospital stays and six surgeries in her brief life to date. It also prevents the football mad youngster from playing any sport. Well, thanks to MLS side New York Red Bulls, Irelyn was able to live her dream and play football with her heroes.

Red Bulls signed Irelyn Maloney on a one-day contract and allowed her to train with the first-team. Irelyn got her own locker, wore the shirt of her favourite player Luis Robles and even managed to bag herself a goal! Football’s beautiful, isn’t it?
