Monday’s big derby match in the Danish Superliga between Brondby and Copenhagen was halted momentarily for one of the most unusual and frankly disgusting reasons you’re likely to see in the history of football. It involved rats. Dead. Rats. How lovely.
As Copenhagen left-back Ludwig Augustinsson prepared to deliver a corner kick in the 85th minute of the match, a few dead rats were thrown at him. Surprisingly not phased by such a random landing, Augustinsson just kicked them off the pitch and left the lucky stewards to deal with the deceased rodents.
Ludwig Augustinsson and his teammates had the last laugh as Copenhagen won the feisty derby match 1-0.
