FIFA Puskas Award finalists’ goals get the LEGO treatment

On Monday evening the FIFA Ballon d’Or awards ceremony finally took place after what felt like endless build up and constant speculation. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past few hours, you’ll be aware that Cristiano Ronaldo was crowned world footballer of the year. There were other awards up for grabs though.

The FIFA Puskas Award also hogged the headlines with James Rodriguez, Robin van Persie and Stephanie Roche’s superb strikes also causing much debate. It was a tough call, but Rodriguez’s phenomenal effort for Colombia against Uruguay in the World Cup came out on top with 42% of the votes.

The Guardian decided to recreate each goal using LEGO and the result is fairly impressive.
