After announcing his retirement today, opinions on former Premier League referee Howard Webb seem to be doing the rounds, with views amongst the football community divided. Many saw him as the best referee in the country, while others saw him as a liability who didn’t deserve to be refereeing in the biggest games and the biggest tournaments.
Webb might’ve enhanced his reputation further, though, with the cheekiest of penalties during a charity game at Barnsley’s Oakwell Stadium on the weekend.
