Brazilian side attempt hilarious new way of stopping low free-kicks but fail

There’s been some excellent improvisation when it comes to free-kicks over the years, but Brazilian Serie B side Ponte Preta attempted something quite sneaky and very original during their Copa Brazil second round clash with Parana. Sadly, despite an admirable effort, their creativity didn’t pay off though.

Parana were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the area, which resulted in Ponte Preta showing off their new system by lying a man on his side, behind the wall. It’s clearly designed to stop low free-kicks and low free-kicks only though, as they cruelly found out.
