Israeli midfielder forced to retire after ‘worst tackle ever’

At the age of just 25 and one year on from the incident, Bnei Yehuda midfielder Rafi Dahan has been forced into early retirement after being on the receiving end of an absolutely horrendous tackle. It’s such a horrific challenge that many have labelled it as the worst tackle ever, unsurprisingly.

Maccabi Haifa defender Ruben Rayos received a straight red card for the reckless challenge but for ending the career of a fellow professional Rafi Dahan felt he should be punished further and refused to accept his apology.

“It was a crime. He wanted to finish my career. I’ll never forgive him for what he’s done.”

It makes for uncomfortable viewing, eh?
