Footballer scores then runs into crowd to applaud his goal

There have been hundreds of creative goal celebrations we’ve all had the pleasure of witnessing over the years and they usually go down extremely well. We’ve seen it all. This latest one from Lithuania is not only very original though, but fairly comical too.

When Zalgiris hosted Trakai in the Lithuanian top flight on Wednesday evening, league leaders Zalgiris went 1-0 up with 12 minutes to go, only to be pegged back by a brilliant header from Belarus attacker Dzimtry Koub. Koub, clearly impressed with his contribution, then ran into the stands to applaud his equaliser.
